Just as the title says, i think we should discuss our declining economy. Today i learned that Granite City Steal is closing down and everyone there will be loosing their jobs before the year is done. My grandpa worked there over 30 years ago along with my great uncle, and my uncle currently works there now and his last day will be friday.
All these hard workers are loosing their jobs while bank ceo's are relaxing on their huge stack of bailout money. I feel bad for Obama because everyone will be counting on him to save us which will not be easy, whose to blame? IMO Bush and rich assholes.
Lots of small businesses all around are closing down and who is benifiting? Our country is filled with nothing but sell-outs, and self centered assholes who will do anything for a buck and wouldn't give two shits about anyone but themselves.
So basicaly this thread is to express your opinion on our economy and get your anger out.

Seriously, in my honest opinion, you cannot blame George Bush(fully) . He is the face and scapegoat of the majority of shady politicians. What is going on right now with the "big 3" is rediculous. If they did business properly, they would not be in this situation. Everyones comes on hard times and they deal with them themselves, they dont ask for a fucking handout (except democrats and the majority of people living in the "projects" ) Fuck taking money from people who earn it and giving to people who obviously arent smart enough to make it themselves. I dont feel bad for Obama, thats what he ran for. Time to buck up and deliver.

OK OK i feel like i neeed to say my $.02 on this topic. I know everyone has their own opinion on why everything is the way it is. There's a lot of different factors why. Everything aside ill let you know what i think is a big contributer. I think we have to sit and look at each other to blame. I can say this by experience. I am a Finance Manager at a car lot. i look at peoples credit every single day. Hundreds of credit reports a month... i guess you can say ive looked at thousands.... Honestly people these days are going way over their head buying things. They buy more than they can afford and then after they buy it they figure they cant pay for it. Im talking credit. Our nation is a slave to credit. To credit companies its their money, its "real" money. People buy things with "credit" weather its homes, cars, or just clothes... then they rack up tons of bills and debt and never pay em back or pay em back "slow". Basically its like youre letting people borrow money and youll never get it back. They can lend so much money but if they dont get it back it screws up the whole system. With homes and foreclosure the banks can take back the home but from a $200K home they might get back $150K... just an example.. same for cars and other things. I know you can blame the whole mortgage crisis on sketchy agents and the whole adjustable rate mortgage but its your decision on if you can personally afford something. Most of what i see is people just sacrificing paying their bills to buy other things. A lot of people are just simply not paying their bills, i dont think people are taking it serious. Its sad i see people coming into the dealership with a foreclosure and two repossessions on their credit but they got $10k cash in their hand to buy a car. Swear on my life i had 2 cash deals like that this month so far. It seems like everyone now a days has a repo on their credit, even though they have a good job, but the very next day their going out trying to get a better car. I know many out their are losing their jobs and losing their homes for many other reasons that are not in their control but to summarize my $.02 i just think were living in a materialistic society to where people are just not living the life they can afford.
.... like i said im not trying to dog the people that lost their jobs and cant afford to pay their bills, i know many people in that situation. Im blaming the people that can afford to pay their bills but dont.

i do agree that credit is a big reason to blame, just like the billions the gov'mt is speding on the war. We def don't have that kind of money to spend which is causing inflation. And the gov't is giving us a false since of security (IMO) by keeping gas prices low.(which can be ok in certain instances by keeping us calm). But as the people of america we need to be conservative(Gas, fresh water, ext.)

i know this but i was saying that you said we need to help ourselves and not rely on others. The banks relied on big brother so how is this different from "Democrats" relying on others to help them(according to you)bildo16;151788 wrote:actually the government bailed them out.
The entire purpose of the government is to help us
dont take any of this personally, Im just expressing my opinion like you
