What it is, is a donation of recyclable metal to the shriners instatute. Each top of a can of say beer or pop by rule of thumb equals out to be about 1 minute on life support. As some of you know shriners does not charge people or hand out bills. They do what work is needed on children FREE of charge. Skin graphs needed surgeries, even cosmetic ones from children who are disfigured at birth. They help so many people in so many ways.
This is made possible by a gross amount of charity. One of the larger older and easier charity collections has been an on going collection with each brother in the shriners (and other organizations) to collect the can tabs.

I work at Shriners... by next year they will start charging for the clinentical vists, money is tight right now and Shriners they have takening a BIG hit, it takes $2 million dollars to run that hostipal a day!

Just thought I'd add that info... any comtrubation will help..
