I just typed in "Missouri Motor Vehicle Laws and Statutes" and "Illinois Motor Vehicle Laws and Statutes" and just followed the link to the respective states website.

missouri decibel limit on exhaust?
dont know about st louis, but any where in midmissouri the cops dont give a shit about exhausts. ive never once heard of anyone getting pullled over and told their exhaust is too loud. theres a ton of cars here without any exhaust at all... including me and i blaze past cops a million times. i do however think they need to make a law that states all harleys should have a muffler because those are the loudest god damn annoying things ever. louder than any street car ive heard with no exhaust. i live right next to the hwy and they get annoying especially when theyre traveling in packs.

well let me tell you this...i have been pulled over NUMEROUS times by local, state, and county officers and not one of them ever said anything about my exhaust (or lack of ). sometimes every now and again they will say i need to put my license plate on my front bumper or sometimes theyll bitch about my 20% tint on the front, which isnt that dark to me. i had 2% on my old crx and that was dark and i did get a few tickets for that.

I agree 100%, they make it loud and it doesn't even sound good.mike93hatch;147441 wrote:dont know about st louis, but any where in midmissouri the cops dont give a shit about exhausts. ive never once heard of anyone getting pullled over and told their exhaust is too loud. theres a ton of cars here without any exhaust at all... including me and i blaze past cops a million times. i do however think they need to make a law that states all harleys should have a muffler because those are the loudest god damn annoying things ever. louder than any street car ive heard with no exhaust. i live right next to the hwy and they get annoying especially when theyre traveling in packs.
