Kris... What happens to the headlights in a front end impact any ways??kra95civic;155366 wrote:why the hell would you put them up but the front bumper reinforcement what if you hit something...then you wont have lights.....on the integras there are tons of good places to put them like on the inside frame rail (p/s) and (d/s) keep them away from the front for safety reasons. paint them the same color as the car if you don't want to see em..... or even on the underside of frame rail. how often do you see an integra in a front end crash. never they always hit the driver side or passenger side. not even dc2whores car hit the front it just got smashed in from impact

Not saying they wont get smashed or damaged, just saying that after a front end crash, there wont be headlight housings to put lights in anyways. not like i threw away my halogen bulbs either.kra95civic;155447 wrote:OK if i have to brake it down
in a front end accident if you have the ballast on the outside of the frame rail it will get smashed. yes it will don't say it wont. ( if you think not your full of shit)
also putting them on the inside of the frame rail stops the ballast from being crushed.
second....if you do not like it there you can paint it so it does not stand out...
for wire tucking purpose you can mount it on the under side of the frame rail to keep it out of view...
ow about this protect your investment...you pay 160ish for H.I.D.S and your will thing to throw that money away..just to buy them again....
for all the extra smart people in the crowd......

found a nifty way to run the wires up to the headlights
also got the windsheild cowl back on
got some things ordered up this week, so i should be able to get the crossmember, suspension and front brakes on real soon

I think what Kris is trying to say is that if they get smashed, that is just one more thing you would have to buy to replace verses mounting them inside the frame to protect them and would just have to replace the bulbs.eh2_Erik;155454 wrote:Not saying they wont get smashed or damaged, just saying that after a front end crash, there wont be headlight housings to put lights in anyways. not like i threw away my halogen bulbs either.
Didnt really spend a pretty penny on these hids, got them for christmas and its only a $60 kit. Just not too concerned i guess.
