What kind of camera? What's everyone using?

Post by granturismonut »

well I just picked up my 450D tonight

all I can say is I got some learning to do. But the payoff should be worth it.

on a side note, I'll still have a point & shoot as a back up, I found Canon has a owner loyalty program that alows you to trade in broken Canon's for low cost replacements. so he A640 will be replaced by a G9.

the 450 is a good dslr and the g9 is a really good high end point and shoot. in a few months you'll probably get "L" fever and want to buy big expensive glass, it happens to the best of us.

You don't know what you're talking about. You're not very smart, and the things you're saying are nonsense. And I'm not angry. But you do need to shut up.

I run a pancake lens on my obsolete entry level Pentax. I got it so I could steal my mommy's expensive glass. Suck my balls.

Canon Powershots are great cameras(point n shoot)...I have a Powershot A 400, Powershot sd 630, and Powershot S3 IS..Love them all.....Pros use them as backup cams frequently...also, Nikon D anything is great....My dad is giving me his D 80 "when he croaks"---hehe......

I would suggest the Canon Powershot S3 IS or the S5 IS

They do damn near everything a DSLR does, with the exception of changing lenses......at a fraction of the cost.....great for amateurs and skilled....

I shoot a 30D (personal camera) and my work gives me 1D Mk 2's. For all you 1D Mk3 fanbois in this thread, I hate to break it to you but the Mk3 was a bit of a failure. They had way more issues than the previous gen Mk2N's and it is nearly a proven fact that the focusing system was sub par. I'd take my regular Mk2s over a Mk3 anyday.
I have 17-35 2.8L, 70-200 2.8L and 50mm 1.8 lenses. Work gives me 24-70 2.8Ls, 300 2.8L and 400 2.8L.
I would highly recommend a used 30D for anybody wanting to get into photography. But as was already stated in this thread, if you have crappy glass (f4-5.6) you will be limiting yourself incredibly.
