What kind of camera? What's everyone using?

I was just wanting to know what everyone's is using in the way of cameras. I have been using a Canon A640 point and shoot. After going to my last track day and seeing pics taken from a point & shoot as opposed to DSLR I am leaning toward stepping up to a DSLR.

I know many of you on here are avid photogs and was wanting to see what everyone else was using and if they could what they'd upgrade to and why.

canon 30D, its been pretty good to me for the past year. before that i had an old digital rebel. it was a good starter dslr. i wouldnt trade my 30 for anything, unless i ran into a shit load of money, then id be getting the canon 1D mark 3

Agreed.

I and still using my Rebel XT and its a great starter cam.

the 30 and 40d's are a very nice step up
but the unicorn is the 1dmk3 :PDT_kult:

honestly its the glass in fron of the cam that makes the pic IMO, you can have a bad ass camera, but if you have shitty glass your still on square one

i have one shitty lens that i need to upgrade, my other 2 are a 70-200 F4L and a 10-22. im going to be upgrading my 12 year old 35-80 to a tamron 28-75 2.8, its no L but its $700 cheaper for about the same quality
