true. thats why they say if you get mugged give up your property. its not worth it. you can try to de-escalate the situation by cooperating or trying to talk to them. most of the time they don't actually shoot, the gun is used more for a scare tactic. but in some cases, you may capped. people get shot over a sandwich these days. its sick.

Also kind of hard to get that pepper spray out of your purse while you have a gun pointing straight at you, unless you carry it in your hand 24/7

You don't have to keep it in your hand 24/7 just have one attached to your keychain and keep your keys in your hand when your somewhere that you feel is questionable. Also, Jen is right, the majority of people who have a gun won't actually use it once they look the victim in the eyes. They just use it as a scare tactic to intimidate the victim. Also, the one thing that I learned from a self defense class i took is, if the guy wants something from you give it to him, its not worth being the hero. Material things can be replaced. This is a very unfortunate incident but you shouldn't live your life in fear based on a few assholes.

I dont live my life in fear at all im just extra cautious as to what I do now a days, which is very sad. I cant walk down the street without thinking someones gonna pop out of that bush and try to rape me or rob me, so I prevent myself from being in those situations. But not knowing every single person in this world makes everyone so unpredictable.

Just like the little 15 yr old girl she froze cause she was so scared to have a gun in her face she didnt know what to do. You never know how you will react to a situation like that unless you have been in that place before.

I bet I could kick some major ass but I guarantee you if im in a situation like that I would cry like a little girl and not know what the fuck to do, probably everything I can to keep my life.
