Cant even walk in Florissant at night anymore sheesh

But the other teen froze, and officers said the men not only took her purse, but shot the teen in the chest.

The young victim is said to be in "serious but stable" condition according to the Chief.

Neighbors on Spring describe their area as normally quiet and safe.

One home owner, Courtney Terry, told NewsChannel 5 he sees Florissant Police patrolling his street regularly.

Terry said he's had his vehicle broken into while it's been parked in his driveway in the past.

Pointing out that New Florissant Road is heavily traveled, and connects to I-270 a short distance from the shooting scene, Terry said he's heard of problems further down the road in the past.

Some neighbors said they know the victim. They said they couldn't believe the news.

"She's trustworthy. She's someone that you would want to be your neighbor. The kids and I all love her and we are definitely praying for her and her family," said an unidentified neighbor.

Terry also said the road lacks a safe sidewalk and he doesn't let his children walk along the road at night.

IMO, you can't walk anywhere at night anymore. There's crazy's everywhere.

that is REALLY close to my house! i saw that on the news today, i guess its time to start locking my doors at night.... and people wonder why i have so many guns

Things like that make me want to move away from North County even sooner than I already plan to, but it true there are crazies everywhere.

If I didnt walk in every are there had been a shooting in St. Louis, I would not walk much of anywhere. Hell there was a murder at the Uncle Bills down the street the day after I moved in to my new apartment.
