And again....

Well this weekend was awesome in Kentucky! Went boating, went on the wave runner, skiid, wake boarded, tubed, and all around had a great time until today about 12:45pm we were out on the Lake and I jumped in the water to swim over to get my sun glasses from the wave runner. Well I climb back into the boat and I got the funny eye site in my right eye again. I told my aunt who was a nurse and they took me back to the dock ASAP.

Its started getting worse so they tried to find a medic but they didnt have any on staff at the time. They called an ambulance and I had to take a fun ride in an ambulance to the Cadiz Hospital. It was not fun at all, and my parents had left about an hour before all this started happening so they had to turn around and I felt so bad. Arrived at the hospital and they did an EKG and my heart was fine. They said I had another TIA and I need to see a neurologists right away. So thats what I will be doing this week.

Sucks for sure but atleast I had a great time other than that!!

Anyone have experience with neurologists? What kind of stuff should I expect?

they will ask you a lot of weird questions and do a CT scan. not too bad.
old enough to know, too young to care.

I found this link for you, arm yourself with the info ... given you're young, good health, chances are the cause is one that's less frequently encountered by doctors

Glancing through it, what jumped out to me, given you've had it before, is some vascular defect that's causing clotting ... over time the clot dissolves, but then the vascular defect creates a new one and you have another seizure

I'm not a doctor, but everyone else in my family is ... please be a "smart consumer" and don't be afraid to ask the Doctor to explain their thinking / reasons for a diagnosis ... the plain truth is that Doctors are juggling patients way too quickly, and you have to be the squeekly wheel

Good luck

Thinking about it, wouldn't hurt to print that thing out and bring it along ... use politely, diplomatically and say to the effect of "I've been trying to learn about this and was wondering what you thought of these possible causes, what things we could start "weeding out"

Doctors, thanks to Lawyers, are afraid of being sued, and a well informed patient will "wake them up a bit" to help them focus ,,, again, don't use this as a "weapon" but simply as a way for you to understand your own condition and the route to diagnose it

We haven't met of course, but you seem like a nice person ... I felt motivated to help you
