car wont start!!!!!

i woke up this morning to go to a dentist apointment and my car wouldnt turn over ... idk if it flooded or noy (how can i tell.) its a carb if you dont know and theres a wire going from the top of the head to the body that doesnot connect to the engine bay where i think its suposed to go... when i go home il take a picutre of it and if there is anyone on the southside that could come over and help me out that would be great!!q! thanks guys id like it if someone responded

This sounds like a bad ground, and bad grounds can keep your car from starting... if you can move it to where it is supposed to go, or someplace where you know it touches metal and not paint, try that.

when you mentioned that, I figured that would be your problem. especially with rain like last night, weak grounds have a tendency to go to shit.

yeaah .... welll i thought i fixed the problem with sporks suggestion but today i go out to my car again at it cranks buti just wont turn over ... i cant figure out what the problem is ... ive tried everything i know ... i even looked in the owners manual to see what it said about the situation and did what it says to do

nothing seems to get the ca r to turnover ...

Does it 'CLICK' when you try to start it? Or does it not turn over at all? Check your battery conections and make sure they aren't corroded.

no its not that ... i checked both positive and negative connections they are not corroded ... and i made sure they were tight ..... on the battery i even check the batterry to make sure it wass full of water ... its all good... the motor rotates strond ... it just wont start

ive heard from otheres that it might be ther distributor cap and rotor ... ill check these and see
