Worst week ever for US Skylines owners.

Last week a guy in texas had his R32 GTR taken away by homeland security because it was imported "illegaly." The worst part is the guy didn't do his research and thought that the state registration was all he needed, he had the car for just a week before it was siezed. The money used to buy the car was also taken away from the preious owner. Homeland security claimed to him that they were "cracking down" on all grey-market cars not nationally legalized. The next day, word got out that 7 more Skylines were taken and forced to export, or be crushed.
Shipment to Canada to be altered for road use up there is also not allowed, Homeland Security stated that the cars could not be imported to a NAFTA country.
So far the siexed cars have been linked to original state registration in Florida (due to easy EPA/DOT requirements), It is unkown if only one individual's imports are being obtained or if several people are involved.
Obviously most 32/34 owners are getting nervous, so don't get too excited if you see many of them coming up sale for cheap real soon.
Here is the siezure warrant for the Texas owner mentioned above, he was the third owner, the second resided in Georgia, hence the warrant from there. Security said the car violated 18USC545, a smuggling law.

His is a Motorex car, so its grandfathered in... at least for now.

I don't know the exact details about how Susan got hers in, but seeing as she is running on Dealer tags all the time, she might want to start hiding.

Last I heard... Adrenaline still didn't have plates on their Skyline 34 due to them not taking the time to legalize it...

unless they have a few extra 34s laying around to do the safety testing through an RI laying around I dunno how they are going to get it legal. Even then customs would probably give them shit for having it in the country well past the 90 day bond period

I thought Susan got her's from Motorex and Gru got his from somewhere in Canada.

susans is illegal as all hell, and grumachs is form motorex, one of the last known legal cars to come from that dump, susan has s14 vin plates on hers. :PDT_att:
