If you would have read the artical and watched the video then maybe you would understand what it was about. Then again it must have wasted more of your precious time reading this response and posting useless garbage in threads. But hey I thought the technology was cool and decided to share it with everyone..............sorry for your inconvienence.modthesol;120022 wrote:so they put a bed sheet over a z4? I watched the video and read the article, but still didn't understand why people would want a car covered in fabric over the standard conventional design of cars.T-Rock;120068 wrote:If you would have read the artical and watched the video then maybe you would understand what it was about. In the short clip it never said anything about production, its just someone stepping out of the box thinking of new ideas, and creating new things for the future.
I absolutely love the concept of this, something completely different then the cars on the road now. If they could find a material that wouldnt tear easily or get torn up from rocks that would be an amazing creation in my opinion.

I read the article..for some reason the video wasn't available...but they stated in the article, I believe, they don't have the consumers in mind for this project, it's more for the designers.SilverStreak;120097 wrote:I watched the video and read the article, but still didn't understand why people would want a car covered in fabric over the standard conventional design of cars.

Its a concept car. Why does it seem that no one can understand that? Concept cars are not made with mass production or sales in mind what-so-ever. There are no crash tests, no wind tunnels, no numbers at all. They are developed in light to have a little fun and use imagination or even explore future ideas. With concept cars, there are no restrictions. Thats why you see crazy ideas. The idea for this car is really neat. You never know. Maybe in the future they will make a material that is strong enough to withstand rocks, accidents, etc. and use this idea.

i think that is an awesome concept. it they could get over the hurdle of the fabric tearing and withstanding the weather, rocks, attempted theft, etc. this would be an amazing concept and would probably be the future of cars. with the unlimited array of things you could mess with, uniqueness each owner could have, etc. imo this is a huge breakthrough and i wouldn't be surprised if my children's first car was something like this.
