My boy Jack... (sad stuff)

Last night my dog Jack started acting very weird...he was just spaced out. He didn't want to get off the couch or move around at all. I went to bed just thinking he was tired. I woke up this morning and came downstairs to find Jack had moved into another room but now he COULDN'T get up. His 1 leg was fully extended and he couldn't bend it at all. He still had this blank stare on his face...like he was just somewhere else. A few minutes later...he had his first of 3 seizures. On the way to the hospital he had another. And when the vet brought him into the emergency room, he had another. 5 total and he's never had anything like this happen...ever. He had to be carried in on a stretcher because he still couldn't move...about ripped my heart out then and there. The doctor gave him valium and then phenobarbital to stop the seizing.

We had to leave him there obviously to have blood work and x-rays done. The vet said at his age (8) it could be anything from epilepsy, to organ failure to worst case...a brain tumor. I know it sounds awful....but I'm hoping its epilepsy. Its the mildest of the 3 and treatable with medication. He would live an otherwise normal life. The others I won't even let myself think about right now. He is otherwise in perfect health. He's never had any major problems at all.

I know I have to do what's best for him....but I'm telling you....he's not ready to go. He has so much energy and is full of life. He loves being our dog and we love having him here. This is awful...like beyond words. Forgive me for making a post like this...its really not my nature. But I'm stuck in my house waiting for a call back from the vet and I need some support.

I know he can pull through. He's strong. It may sound ridiculous...but keep my boy Jack in your thoughts. Please. Thanks guys.

I should mention...he's a Weimaraner. If anyone has one and has had seizure problems...advice/help would be great.

Oh no!!!!! Weimereiner's (sp) are great dogs. I really hope Jack pulls through, and wish you the best of luck! Let me know if you need anything.

its either one of the other 2 ....or its something they haven't determined yet. blood work will tell us more...but we dont have those results back yet.
