Warren County has changed their rules.

I had a missed call this morning then another missed call from my lawyers office saying "yeah Stephanie you were supposed to be at court this morning"

WHAT!!!!!???!!!!???????!!!!!!

So I call them back and explain to them that the letter I received from them said he would be appearing for me. They did not know the "rules" now say that the defendant has to ALSO appear in court along with the lawyer. My lawyer didnt even know that. But luckily they are doing everything they can to help me out. Court said I had to pay my fines by 5pm tonight or "something will happen", whatever that means, but I cant get there today by 5pm.

SO FYI if you have a lawyer taking care of a ticket make sure that jurisdiction doesnt need you to appear in court as well.

Funny you should say I had a lawyer not even appear in court for one of my charges so that turned into an arrest warrant..few weeks later when I get pulled over, you know what happens..

"something will happen" probably equals arrest warrant. but hopefully not.

I talked to them again and I had to fax them my valid drivers license so hopefully it will get paid so nothing happens and I can just pay my lawyer back or something but who knows. This stuff sucks

why do you have to be in court all the way in bumfuck? i've never heard of that rule before. or anyone having to abide by it either. were you using a lawyer from out here?

I got a ticket while visiting a friend up there. I used the lawyer I always use hes my uncles best friend and is great, but they didnt know about this and neither did I.

So all in all I had to drive ALL the way out there to pay my ticket which was cool I understand whatever, but when I got there I had my niece with me and they were like "oh you have to go into court and talk to the judge, and court is in session now" Im like uhhh ok wtf. So we go in and we are sitting there for like 10 minutes watching people talk to the judge and an officer walks past so I ask her what I should do and she told the judge that I was there. He calls me up asks if I can pay it, I say yes, and he also asks for my valid drivers license. I give him that and this conversation consist of 30 seconds and then I was on my merry way paying the fees and FINALLY heading home 30 minutes later. Thank gosh my niece is so damn good. Shes 3 and sat there oh so quietly while waiting with me.

AHHH silly court systems lol
