That would be awsome, but it still would not help in the long run IMO because alot of people would go blow it and the others would benifit from that and have even more money. IMO everyone needs to learn to just live within their means and fix their own problems. If you get yourself in too deep that is your own problem, and you should be held accountable for it.dodgin_it;152092 wrote:here's my idea. instead of using $700 billion for bailing out corps, lets give every American a million bucks to stimulate the economy. do the math. there's $700 bil and 305 mil people. that will get us going

Truth, taxing small business will not make things better if you are going to tax a business tax large corp. I have worked for a family owned and operated business for just over 5 years and to be honest their proffit is not that high. The owners are very open with the full budget and all aspects that go with it.
As for this bailout I think it is BS its going to make the rich richer and the poor poorer IMO, because everyone that is good with their money is going to continue to save and be smart with the money and most others that have trouble paying bills will continue to do the same and blow it on stupid shit (excluding the people who were once gainfully imployed but have lost their jobs and can not pay bills for that reason). Bassicaly passing the bailout gives the ok to be irresponsable with your money.
Hay lets go get 21 billion dollars in debt, its ok dont work if we cry to the govenment they will help us out. LAME
Finally I hate to say it but maybe another depression would be a good thing. I think it might teach people to be more responsible with their spending. Look at your gradparents if they lived through the last I bet they are very carefull how they spend their money. My fathers parents lived through it and they rarely bought something they didnt have a need for with the exception of a few vacations.
That is all for now.
i pretty much agree with you... i may only be 17 but i started work the month i turned 16 gas was 3.54 and i owned a 77 thunderbird that got 9 miles to the gallon.. but i just had to learn to live with what i could.. i could have went out an bought a new car but i honestly know that i wouldn't be able to afford the payments so i didin't. i think this " bailout" is a bunch of bullshit and people just need to learn when to take responsibilty for their fuck up.. i'm in debt 2k for the little that i own and i am paying that off before i buy anything else. most of this is just fucking people who count on everybody else.. i'm sorry but if your ass is poor and you Can't SOMEHOW make it work than you should be left that way.. its not up to other pople to make you happy and wealthy its up to yourself .. fuck those damn " projects" get off your lazy ass and work for a living dumbfucks this issue of careing for the less wealthy is costing alot of people thier jobs that honestly worked there ass off to get there.... the stupid are fucking everybody else over....

This is totally off topic, but the thread doesn't really have the same overall theme anyways, just thought this was kind of funny. The head CEO's/individuals in charge at GM are making well over 7 digits...The same position's at Toyota are making well under 6 digits. People are wondering why GM is going under and Toyota hasn't showed a decline? This is a prime example, and isn't only happening in the automotive industry...

I'm surprised nobody mentioned this:
Our country is not the only nation in this recession, depression, whatever the hell you want to call it. It's almost comforting knowing that at least we're not the only nation that is in a shitty position. I've heard rumors that we are actually currently in worse shape than the great depression, the only reason we don't realize it is because of all the credit running around, which by the way, good luck getting any more credit nowadays because of the credit crunch. I'll just be thankful when we pull ourselves out of this rut, because historically, when we bounce back, we have many great years economically to come. I'm also surprised nobody mentioned anything about the war because historically, when we hit a recession, we also jump into a war. Unfortunately the war approach didn't work this time.
