A couple people I know got hit by the tornado in Ferguson and by Harrahs. I drove past the airport and it's pretty crazy looking. Def a lot worse than what it looks like on t.v.
I'm going to try my hardest and get out there tomorrow to volunteer. If anyone else wants to let me know.
"Service International is calling for volunteers to help with clean-up following Friday's tornado in Maryland Heights. Work will start at 10 a.m., Monday, April 25, and volunteers can register at SI's Tornado Base of Operations at Grace Church, 2695 Creve Coeur Mill Road, Maryland Heights, MO 63043. Please see website for more details."

the news doesnt do this thing justice at all, they havent shown a fraction of the damage in the berkeley-ferguson area. i drove through some the side streets, theres trees and houses torn up for miles, you can actually see the path cut into the trees. this thing literally missed my parents house by hundreds of feet, it was just on the other side of the railroad tracks by their house.
it paralleled airport road and went right down chambers and damaged every damn house and every tree. it actually pisses me off that the news didnt even really cover any of it! it sucks i grew up over in that area and a lot of the houses and things i remember are just detroyed.

My cousin is an officer in the Berkeley area and he said there has been more looting and gunfire in the past few days than he's seen since he started working for them 2 years ago.
I'm still a neighborhood ASSHOLE!

That was my aunts house in the video at 4:26 at end of royal ave by what use to be a little ceasars... that tree over the back you see over house in video had about a 3 ft thick diameter trunk and it crushed (literally) the back of her house among other damage from other debris and similar sized trees.
Helped out her for most of Saturday tried to clean up or do what we could. Finally buddy of my dads called Ron Smiths tree service he knew, they brought an army of guys from troy and serious heavy equiptment to remove the trees on top of the house or whats left of the back of it.
Was incredible amount of damage... I have never seen anything like that. THANK GOD no one was killed in that area, almost a miracle with the kind of damage I seen.

For all the hype we got lucky. I thought for sure my car was finally going to get some serious hail damage (it's been hit a lot, but never any damage).Boosted_da;262607 wrote:got a shit ton of hail in edwardsville! nothing to bad tho
We didn't get any hail in the Maryville/Collinsville area around where 159 and 55/70 meet. Just moderate rain.

my house in florissant had no issues, no power flickers or outages, hardly any wind while storm was passing through. Just a tiny bit of small hail and lots of rain. about 8:30 friday night i got a call from my mom and she told me my older brother was in his shop in maryland heights when it touched down. he had a customers car in his shop and he jumped into it just before the building collapsed while he was in it. no injury to him, but building is definately done for. heres some pics i took from my phone the next day.

took a walk down the railroad tracks behind his work and took these:

That's scary Rick, at least he thought quick enough to jump in a car.
In St. Louis County there are 220 homes destroyed, 568 with significant damage(but repairable), and 839 with minor damage.
It's just incredibly that there we no fatalities.
