While BMW's are nice, they are expensive, and expensive to maintain if you don't do everything yourself. While I may have bought something other than a TC, I'd rather make the payments on the TC over a brand new Beemer. The TC is a 2 door Corolla S, and last time I checked the Corolla is no slouch when it comes to lasting quality.

a bmw will always pull in more vag than a tc :fag:

And is not about which car is more expensive because Yah you can go purchase.. for example.. a bmw x4 which has the same power if not less than my TC...

About what brand and quality ya want..

Don't be jealous of my TC beauty
holy horrible comparison. lmao
and there's no jealousy. i like TC's, but i won't own one. i do not know you, or anything about you, but from what i saw at sonic with adam (awwww) after all the kids were ran off, your car is stock? i'm sorry if it's not and i'm wrong.

Wouldn't you like to see more of your investment back rather than saying "well I paid $4,000 more for this when I could have bought a tC", or is initial purchase price more important to you, Kelly?

I'm not Steck, i don't purchase over the sticker price to have something i want. i've always purchased reliable vehicles that retain a BIT of their value. granted the civic was cheap, i know i'll get back more than what i paid since i got it insanely under book value.

so, if you're insinuating that i care more about the cost/looks of an item, fuck yes i do. but i also know where and how to spend my money more wisely.
in a nut shell, quality, reliability, and resale are what i look for. hence why all of my aftermarket parts are high end, not knock off bullshit. what cheap parts i have came w/ the car, and have already been replaced or will be. will i get what i'd like for the parts...prolly not. no one does unless they find a dumb kid and/or parent's checkbook.

Comparing MSRP's is kind of irrelevant IMHO. SMART people will buy a USED car so the first owner can take the pole in the ass because they bought it new. You can say what you want about a TC and a Malibu as I don't care. I would not own either of the turds. However, the TC has a pretty narrow market for resale as you have to find someone looking for a TC or they have to be looking for a "cute" car. The Malibu, however, has a lot more people looking for it whether they know it or not (cheap car for family, individual that wants a car that's easy to get into and out of the back seat, etc).

I can say with 100% certainty that every single vehicle I own except for my Avalanche I will sell for more than I paid for it and also more than I even have in it. Every one of my cars will PAY me when I sell them. I have never bought a new car and never plan to. I have no problem with someone else taking the money hit and getting all of the little issues worked out before I get it.

Yes, that does sound like an ugly ass interior. However, maybe the owner thinks it's great. They own the car (hopefully) so that's all that counts.

Not true. New BMW's come with a maintainance package now which covers your first few services as well as your first brake job, wiper blades, washer fluid, and light bulbs. You don't have to pay a dime for any of it. Yeah, once the plan lapses you'll have to cover the bill. But paying $120 for an oil change every 8-10k miles is not bad at all. You'd spend about $105 in oil changes on a tC in that period of time just using plain Jane oil.

BTW, it's Bimmer. A Beemer is a motorcycle.

True enough, but I'm willing to bet the higher sticker price paid for that maintenance package in someway or another. In the long, loooong run with both cars I still see the TC as a better investment -resale value. But if your keeping either for a long time, neither will have a decent resale.

Your correct about Bimmer, Thanks for reminding me though.

Mazkid;189466 wrote:While the initial MSRP of these 2 cars from different classes might show that the Malibu is more expensive...right off the lot the Malibu's value drops below that of the tC...and continues to fall until it's like every other GM car - not worth its weight in scrap metal. Furthermore, MSRP on GM cars is a silly thing to bring up since they end up rebating and discounting thier cars far more than just about any Japanese import. Sure, GM wants to get $21K for a Malibu, but the buying public knows that there are better cars out there for the same price, so GM/dealerships end up cutting down the price til they get someone that just needs a car and doesn't care much about it to bite based on price alone, and a salesman that could talk them into buying a razor scooter for a 25 mile commute.

You only buy a car once...and eventually, if the car doesn't get totalled, you have to sell it. Wouldn't you like to see more of your investment back rather than saying "well I paid $4,000 more for this when I could have bought a tC", or is initial purchase price more important to you, Kelly?
