Ok well cool thanks for the info man. Is this rsx on clubrsx? It was a nice looking RSX minus the hood.JesSi;61826 wrote:Stock RSX Type-S make 170-175ish whp. The combination of I/RH/E with K-Pro can yield between 190-200whp depending on the motor's condition and the right combination of parts.

Something doesn't add up... 170ish whp and more torque than a B16...JesSi;61826 wrote:Stock RSX Type-S make 170-175ish whp. Meh also if ya look at a p30 basemap or p28 basemap when vtec kicks in the air fuel ratio ups 3% to 4% along with the duty cycle. AJ didn't start happening to misfire until vtec kicked in on the dyno and it spit and sputtered, I know about the plugs cause I was the first one at the dyno to pull him to the side and ask if he had stock plugs in and he said yes.N2HIFI;61807 wrote:actually no , AJ car is running pig rich, but it mainly had to do with the wrong temp range plugs and for misfiring due to having a NA gap on a boosted car (.44 vs .32ish). Running a LS base map is really not that much different from a vtec one other then more fuel being added at changeover, but if their is no added fuel at that point he would start running lean which in turn would make ALOT more HP if this was the case. Remember lean = more HP / Running rich = less power.
So on a LS base map his car would technically make more power .. but either way you look at it his car is not correctly tuned for his current application no matter what the base map, but if he made over 200hp in a car that weight's about 400lbs less he should have pulled stronger, but if he was not running the car out to red line then it really did not matter what the weight/hp difference was.

Of course a colder plug will help but the added fuel percents ontop will make you run a tad bit richer, I'm just saying I've been looking through basemaps on here and it couldn't hurt to try a few other things but it doesn't matter cause he goes for a tune once the new blocks in anyways.
Also he did have some boost leaks on the dyno as well so thats another way reason he didn't make as much power, even for a wrong basemap and whatnot it still put down good numbers. Also whats this running lean means more hp, and rich less power cause that doesn't add up at all. Either way lean or rich it hurts you anyway you look at it, If your running lean add more fuel and if your running rich take fuel away thats why they created adjustable fpr's.
AJ I bet your clutch is hateing life though lol.

AJ's car is lighter, has more horsepower, and probably a little bit more torque, and they raced from a roll.

remember that fuel is not the ONLY thing that get increased when vtec changeover happens, the DBL increase of air flow is what was causing the spark on the plugs to be blown out thus causing the misfiring, this is common boosted motors running a large gap or high compression motors running a large gap also, so the misfiring had nothing to do with fuel because the wideband showed him running rich and a vtec basemap would have just made it worse90CivicEx;61832 wrote:Meh also if ya look at a p30 basemap or p28 basemap when vtec kicks in the air fuel ratio ups 3% to 4% along with the duty cycle. yea let me correct what i stated , running lean will make more power over running pig rich, running lean will make the motor burn hotter and cleaner which = better for emissions but not for making HP, but if you weight that out over running extreamly rich which will cause the motor to load up and bog down. Neither is perfered for making horsepower obviously.90CivicEx;61832 wrote:Also he did have some boost leaks on the dyno as well so thats another way reason he didn't make as much power, even for a wrong basemap and whatnot it still put down good numbers.
