WELLLLL................
Okay so a few things have happened in the past cpl weeks since i put the b16 in the car.
Well basically i made a small mistake when putting the b16 i got from freak chris in the car, basically it seems that sombody at some point in the motors life took the oil pump bolts out and i failed to notice the BIG issue when putting the longblock together. Well to my defence you don't notice these things when the timing belt cover is on ... blah whatever.
Basically what happened was when i was driving home from work the gasket/seal that was (the only thing) holding the oil pump on failed finally and the motor pumped all the oil out of the motor all over the hwy as i drove home from southcounty. The end result was no oil in the motor and destroyed main bearings... see pictures.

yummmy copper....... no thats bad ...
well not only did the mains get ate up so did the crank .... blah what a mess
So dale swings by and helps me pull the crank and mains from another block and swap them into the motor out of the coupe. Well we reassembled the motor slap it back in the the car get the car all finished up and put a few miles on it, i put roughly about 30 miles and about 2hrs of run time on it and start noticing that the cars not running right at all. I noticed that the car started running warm and not having that much power , plus the fact that the car would not switch over for vtec when it should have. I also noticed that the car wanted to die when coming to a stop and the oil light would come on when the car would drop down to around 1000rpm.
Well i figured fuck it the motors still got a issue , so i pulled the car back into the garage and drained the oil out , luckly i have a magnetic drain plug because when i pulled it out i found about a 1/2" of metal shavings stuck to it and the oil looked like grey milk chocolate, crap more bearing material.
So we pulled the motor and dale came over and picked up my spare blocks and heads and went to town.
Progress so far:
-Block sent to machine shop for cleaning and slight clean up hone
-new rings, bearings, gasket kit ordered
-Itr pistons fitted to b16 rods
-swapped supertech valves and sk2 springs and retainers from bad head over to good head
currently working on the e-bay doing some clean up work and relocation of a few things, also working on installing my GSR cluster finally.
this is all for now, rebuild stuff will be here on the 8th so look fwd to the motor going back in the coming weekend

Sorry to hear about the whole oil pump issue. You have the worst luck! At least your ride still looks fking awesome. A true inspiration to get to work on my EK!
