Question for you JMP....How well does that paint hold up?
For example if your going to pump gas and some gas comes out on the paint does it eat it away?

So far so good. It will hold up, you just can't drag anything against it, or anything stupid like that. As far as the gas thing, not sure, havent done that yet.GAWear;239067 wrote:Question for you JMP....How well does that paint hold up?

I really wanted the experience of doing it myself more than anything. It turned out nice, aside from the hood, I have to redo that but everything else is good.modthesol;239070 wrote:should have taken it to maaco. why didnt you do the side skirts?

maaco does really good work as long as you have the body work done correctly before taking it there, and know the right person working there.sharpie;239117 wrote:i would never take anything to macco. they painted my friends truck the wrong color and put a whole in his radiator. i dont want to get off topic here but that doesnt sound like macco does good work. it makes it sound like i have to do the body work myself, then hope the perosn who paints it knows wtf they are doing. if i take my car to a body shop i want the people there (thats right i said people, not just a person) who knows how to paint a car. not only did they paint his truck the wrong color there was overspary on everything, bolts, exhaust tip, tires, windows and even on the handle on the tailgate. ive seen other poepls cars from there as well and almost all had orange peel problems with the paint. im not saying you cant get lucky and have someone do a half way decent job but i know myself will never take anything i own there ever.MaSSaCrE;239122 wrote:maaco does really good work as long as you have the body work done correctly before taking it there, and know the right person working there.

You must not realise at least 50% of shops and dealerships send the cars to maaco to be paint matched or repainted when damaged and what not, nobody realises that clearly. It all depends if your being cheap and getting the 250 dollar job or getting the nice paint jobs. If you dont tell them what you wanted taped off or painted then they wont do it. Now If you go in there and right down everything you wanted taped off or painted they do it.
Regardless what anyone has to say on maaco, You dont just drop your shit off and expext it to be perfect unless you specify.
Now If anyone would like to have stuff done by maaco, A really good maaco, and Good painters... I would be more then happy to help some people out since my parents do business with them and they do our cars the right way.
I will post pictures of my DD, and the familys cars...F350, Mustang, etc and show you our cars done by maaco.
No need to pay for a paintjob that cost more then your car when maaco does great work if you go to the right people.
Every shop and every business will have there flaws and people that shouldnt be working there
