Timed skidpan runs are not often done at these events. These events are held once a month and is open to anybody willing. It's called "SuperTrax" and it's held at quite an interesting track not too far out of Johannesburg. The day consists of track sessions and skidpan runs(heads up style). It's a very basic setup but works nicely, track is divided into two classes( <2.0 & 2.0<) with 20min sessions per class @ an average of 3-4sessions per class. Skidpan is heads up runs through a preset layout of cones and tyres, no classes.
Cool thing about these days is that you get a wide variety of cars entering, anything from MK1 VW Golfs right thru to Porsches and the likes, eg:
This past weekend I had the pleasure of watching a Civic 2.0 VTEC turbo on 0.7bar boost overtake a GT3RS and keep him off for three laps(until his tyres starting giving up on him).

I have never come across an AWD civic before. I have seen some pics & specs on the net, but these never came to our shores(like most of the Honda range:PDT_nknw:). Our model selection this side is tiny and on top of it, we get all the Euro spec models

Agreed! You would be VERY surprised and shocked to see what limited selection we get here in South Africa and how heavily inflated the prices for OEM & aftermarket parts are! There is so much I would like to do to my ride, but it's just no where near affordable unless you're rolling in cash

Wat's up ya'll! I'm in need of some suggestions please.......
It has come time(again) for me to change tyres(putting Pilot Exaltos on again) and I'm in a bit of a dilemma because my wheels are not in a very good state...
I have 3options as far as I can see
1.) Refurbish current wheels
2.) Buy new wheels (current options further down)
3.) Hunt for Civic EK VTEC wheels (very rare & expensive)

I have attached 4pics of new wheels (two designs, each in silver & anthracite). I've decided to stick to 15" wheels due to the drop, performance & handling characteristics.

I would REALLY appreciate your ideas, suggestions & criticism(positive or not). I always prefer getting a completely unbiased opinion on such matters.

Much Appreciated

The antracite is grabbing my attention over the silver to be honest and I'm kinda leaning towards the 10spoke over the 13spoke due to wanting to stick to 15".
I'm still in two minds over the EK Civic VTEC wheels, as they are OEM and look sweet, but I'm beginning to think that too many people over here have them on EG's already. :PDT_frfr:
