Sprinting(balls out) for 60 seconds then lightly jogging for 120 seconds will definitely help your speed without making running completely suck. I was a terrible runner when I joined and 60-120's helped get my times down quick.
Also, be prepared to do tedious, ridiculous work just because somebody higher than you says so. I rarely get to do my actual job. I'm more like a janitor who works on strykers every once in a while.
These videos are funny but unfortunately happens quite often.

Good luck! The military is great if you don't mind all of the bullshit you encounter. See the world.

Thank you, and thank you for your service man. I love talking to guys who have been to afghanistan or iraq. I had an awesome conversation with my brothers friend who was in Afghanistan in 2001 right when they first went over there. He actually, along with my brother, went to basic in June of 2001 so they were getting out right after the 11th. Thanks again!Redcivicsi;274367 wrote:Hey good luck with the army.... i was in the corps and got out as a Sergeant. did two tours one to iraq in 08/09 and afghanistan in 2010. i had alot of fun while i was in and miss every single min of it since i been out. but any ways good luck.

Bringing my thread back from the dead because ive got some more questions. I'm on my two day pass between bct and ait. I'm a cav scout and am being sent to Hawaii. Rumor has it I will stay at benning two weeks after ait graduation for stryker school. I'm just curious if anyone has gone through this or knows if that's true. My fiance and I are trying to plan our wedding for my leave and this is kinda holding us up on planning. I'm also curious of what being stationed in hawaii is like. Pros/cons? As a Pfc what is the likeliness her and I will be able to get an apartment off base? Some guys are saying between the two of us we can only have one car? I would greatly appreciate all input. Thanks guys.
