should have asked a detail expert first :) like me............. i own a steam cleaner. when i finish, i blast the heat for 10 minutes on the floor, then over night for 2-3 nights leave your windows slightly cracked.... that smell is mold occurring, you should prolly fix it now lol...

if i were you i would take it up to a car wash in the bed of a truck, shampoo it,power rinse it,and then vaccum it it really good before you let it sit out to completely dry..i used to do that right after winter to rid the carpet of all the dirt/salt that i tracked in over the winter months. It takes a while but to me its worth it.

even after its completly dry, you can sprinkle some carpet deoderizer all over the carpet and vaccum it again. That antimicrobial wouldnt be a bad idea to spray on the bottem of the carpet but if its completely dry you shouldnt have to worry about mold..just my 2 cents.

I have the carpet out and the windows down now. I'll leave it out for a while to figure out what to do exactly. I'm broke ($18 to my name till Friday unless I cheat and go to the bank) so whatever I do now has to be basically free.

At least with the ECU in the house, I can leave the car windows down and unlocked with no worry of it getting stolen. lol
