child aside, if they kept 28 of 37 people, then maybe you should have done something different day to day to make sure you kept your job?

They shut my entire dept down there was nothing any of us could do...Its nothing that we did or didn't do because we made them a ton of money. I myself alone this month made the SOB almost 60k... Apparently though our dept meant the least to them out of the rest. I started in Jan and it was the 2nd month that dept had been open, I held the #1 position in that dept every month but one and that month is this one because I missed a few days after having my baby. One of my buddies in the company txt'd me today saying that he just got out of a meeting and they have to cut spending 100k a mth...looks like someone f'd up eh?

I somewhat agree with Nate, does it make your boss a shitty person.... eh kinda.
But I look out for ME, i'll show compason if it doesnt affect my life but, other wise your on your own!

You don't think I look out for myself? I'd be an idiot if I didn't look out for myself I have a wife and kids to look out for. If I saw this coming I would have started looking for a job a long time ago, this seriously went down in approx 30 min. The owner arrives then the GM comes in and says after you guys finish your calls go on DND and we are gonna have a meeting.. about 20-30 min later he comes in and this was the meeting.....alright guys bad news we are shutting down your dept some things came up and we had to cut you all out so get your stuff if we need you later we'll call you good luck on your job search.

Delslo you seem like a pretty shady person if all you care about is yourself, you are telling me you won't show compassion for your family or friends if it doesn't affect you. Some family member gets cancer or loses there house or job and since it doesn't affect you who gives a shit.. I personally was raised with a treat people how you want to be treated philosophy i've lived all 28 yrs of my life that way and have made some great friends that will be around for ever. I always try and help whoever needs it if I am able to in some way. I wasn't asking for any sympathy as the topic stated I wanted to RANT thats it, was that ok?

I understand where you are coming from being his "machine" and everything but I was approached for a promotion a couple months back and have been invited out for dinners and lunch with the management and ownership....oh well f him and the company....on a good note word got out that I was a "free agent" and I got a couple calls today wanting to hire me.. I am going in on Fri to talk to em...

alright i'm going to try and enjoy my "vacation" I got some buddies coming over and we are gonna play some Wii and PS3

Sorry I hurt your feelings, but I've been laid off too. Was I mad, sure, but complaining will get you no where dude. Suck it up and be a man. Wife, kids, whatever.....it was you choice to have those things, not your job's.

And as for as crying about your boss/owner buying toys, don't act like you wouldn't do the same. That S2k in your avatar seems like a perfect family car for 4 people LOL.

I'm sure you would let your assets and business go to shit, to protect an employee who has a pulling out problem. Grow up.

That is the most assinine thing I have heard in a long time....it was my choice to have a wife and a child so its my fault I lost my job and am angry about it?
If I had my own business yes I would do everything I could to keep it afloat but i'm not going to axe someone that had never missed a day worked extra and put up big numbers for me. FYI the S2k sits in the garage and as not the primary vehicle my wife has a new CR-V and I drive a Camry everyday that is all paid for.
I don't know what your problem is man you have some serious issues and you need to grow up read what your typed good lord I don't think I have to say anything else to you because you already made a big fool out of yourself.

On the lighter side of things I went in today and talked to the company that was recruiting me for a job and they said they wanted me no matter what, they gave me a good offer and I start on Mon. Something else that I thought was rather funny on my way home from the interview I got a call from my old GM that laid us off and he offered me a job and said he was sorry and wanted me to come back....looks like he was to late
