This post comes with a guarantee: I guarantee that I don't care what you think about it.

I thought it was unfair to plug another candidate under someone else's posting, but yea, everyone go check out www.voteforbrad.com. He was an old professor of mine who is running as an independent. He is the most brilliant man I have ever met in my life and in my opinion is a better candidate than any of the others.Spork;85714 wrote:are you going to insert a "www.voteforbrad.com" in here?

As good as Brad's views are, they're going unheard. His one point about a candidate raising money is a good reason to not vote for that person is typically a truthful point. They will have to return the favor. However, with Ron, he only accepts personal contributions which excludes him from this logic. That's a HUGE plus to me.99RedBalloons;85716 wrote:I thought it was unfair to plug another candidate under someone else's posting, but yea, everyone go check out www.voteforbrad.com. I think if Ron were to get the nomination, Brad would make an excellent VP. Some topics that are quite important Brad does not even discuss on his site (Homeland Security/P.A.T.R.I.O.T. Act), so I cannot give him a just yea or nay on an overall.
But I must also say that his site looks like shit. And that's a big thing when it comes to advertising your candidacy for President of the country.
You can literally spend less money than he did on a site that is much more automated, organized and accessible (see: Drupal.org). So right there, it tells me that although he may be serious, his campaign is not.
It is unfortunate that in today's world people like Brad do not get the same level of political respect that others do; but you've got to play the game if you want to win. And a major part of the game is raising money.

You're a fucking idiot.
Do some goddamn research on who's actually running, find a candidate who's ideals and agenda align with yours and then be active about getting that person elected. I just hope it's Dr. Paul.

I don't think that you can claim that because his website might not be the best, that his campaign isn't serious. Unfortunately, too much emphasis is based on appearance. Hillary's (and the other candidates) website looks amazing, but it's lacking substance. It all seems like a shameless marketing ploy to rally the masses. And the fact that a small candidate like himself, has had over 800,000 hits says something.
Secondly, money should have absolutely nothing to do with politics. I highly doubt that the framers of the constitution and those that created our nation wanted the presidency to be able to be bought. Yes, they were elitist, yes they wanted the smartest, most qualified person, a desire that is obviously lacking in this era of American politics.
Lastly, thank you for checking out his website, I will look more into Ron Paul in return, and I appreciate your opinion, I forwarded that website to Brad, one great thing about him is that he is open to suggestions and ways to better his campaign.
In closing I say :ymca:

I'm always open for discussing politics and exploring new persons. And I agree with what you're saying in regards to appearance and money, but again, the world is not perfect so if something like money determines your eligibility, then you have to raise money. Once in power you can then make changes to your society fixing what needs to be fixed.99RedBalloons;85782 wrote:I don't think that you can claim that because his website might not be the best, that his campaign isn't serious. Sorry to take another jab at you/Brad, but you said that Clinton's site lacks content; well, so does Brad's. Especially here: http://www.georgekunz.org/vote2/issues.html. Also, the 800k hits is flawed, it just counts page loads and not unique hits, so someone can visit the site 100 times a day and the counter will increment by 100. Finally...the random links are just odd (http://www.familypet.com/). Oh, just clicked on the pics...the canned photos of him speaking are weak too; speaking with no audience also drives down legitimacy. However, his wife is smoking hot, so +1000 there
I'm sorry to be so negative, but consider it more like constructive criticism...mostly entailing the DONT'S of webpage design. Again, I'm in no way downplaying Brad's credentials, intentions or abilities, but rather his staff's that manage the site. If our society were perfect, people like Brad and Ron would be frontrunners of this/any election. But it's not; and those who try to campaign with an I-must-campaing-like-in-a-perfect-society mentality get left in the dust. Sad but true.
