And sometimes the deductible to get your phone fixed can be as high as $100. Not worth it IMO. Rick, I'll take my old phone up to T-Mobile ( they are really cool up at the one by my place) and have them unlock it. Once it's unlocked, you should be able to use it with any company. I'll let you borrow it until you are able to get a new phone.
when my verizon casio Gzone broke.. they told me to mail it to them and in 2-5 days they would tell me if i needed a new one or if they could fix it.. so i mailed it.. they couldn't fix it. so i paid my deductable and got a replacement Gzone, well my next bill came. and i saw a 150 dollar charge for them checking it out. i cancelled my plan 2 days later. FUCK VERIZON

Wow, you guys got fucked. I paid the $50 deductable, and they sent me a whole new phone....??? I have NEVER heard of charges after, and I have had alot of friends in the cell phone biz.

Ah yes, I've had Verizon for 6 years, and have had ZERO issues w/ them in those 6years.
Finds it funny you (all) check my profile multiple times a day. Get a life.

yes but this is the way i look at it. ive had various cell phones continously over the past eight years. at $5 a month times 96 months, my spiffy calculator comes up to a total of $480. since this is the first time ive had a problem and need to have the phone replace and the value of the phone is $180. $480-$180=$300. $300 extra that i would have spent on nothing.

normally i have a couple of hundred laying around for emergencies, but i had some things to take care of and it being the holidays... my emergency monies ran out. :(
