Yea I thought about a supercharger but not on a FWD Honda. If I had the car and 1800 to spend I would save up a lil bit and buy a nicer turbo kit and make sure you get it tuned. Tuning is the key for turbo'd cars.

a stock honda can spin the tires. so whats your point?bildo16;51147 wrote:so your car doesnt spin the tires???
for any major increase of hp in a stock engine, nothing is reliable. and what facts is your opinion based on? have you ever fully researched the pros and cons of a turbo fwd honda compared to supercharged fwd honda?bildo16;51147 wrote:the jrsc on my opinion, is the most reliable,
cost effective? $500 plus installation for a junkyard turbo setup compared to $2000 - $3000 plus installation of a supercharger....bildo16;51147 wrote:cost effective way to had safe hp to a daily driver.

like mentioned before, there are hundreds of them, just not around here. i know of at least 5 right off the top of my head that live within 10 miles of my house.bildo16;51147 wrote:there would be hundreds more just like it.
its not the key for just turboed cars, its the key to any car. stock cars need a good tune for fuel emissions and reliability. turboed, high hp n/a setups, nitrous, supercharged, procharged.... they all need good tunes or wont last long.soundqjr;51152 wrote:Tuning is the key for turbo'd cars.

your car is the exception to people blowing their shit up. the sc kit comes with a reflash, the facts of my opinions are based on experience car "a" has jrsc, lasts for 3 years runing 8 psi and turning out 14.8 1/4 timeslips only on the jrsc, and their reflash. car "b" has turbo kit scrapped together, runs 8 psi(ON A GOOD TUNE!) and turns 15 flat, then blows up after1 1/2 years to everyones disbelief. say what you want, the car had a good tune, was pulling12.3 a/f at full boost, and was daily driven for a full summer. granted, they were both cavaliers, but after you factor in the cost of
1. manifold
2. TURBO!
3. intercooler
4. wastegate(if needed)
5. charge pipes
6. injectors
7. bov
8. dump & all other exhaust
9. tuning software
10. the tune
11. gauges(unless your a complete retard)
With the jrsc, you get the sc and the reflash, youre done. thats all thats needed. it is proven reliable power imo due to what i have seen in the past compared to turboed cars. you just said there ARE hundreds more like it, just not around here, but then you say you can count off 5 that live within 10 miles of your house,yo umust live in some concentrated area where you can dig through peoples trash and find fmic, and turbos being thrown away. you are biased since you drive a turboed car, you can say that youre not, but you are, i drive a nearly stock gsr, but i also drive 60 miles a day for work purposes, i have a friend with a cavalier putting down great numbers on a kit that he built himself( manifold, exhaust, charge pipes) so i consider myself to be one of the least biased people around.

so you took one instance of each car, not even hondas at that, and based your opinions on that. thats not proper research. the fact that theyre not even hondas makes your whole opinion void.bildo16;51192 wrote:your car is the exception to people blowing their shit up. the sc kit comes with a reflash, the facts of my opinions are based on experience car "a" has jrsc, lasts for 3 years runing 8 psi and turning out 14.8 1/4 timeslips only on the jrsc, and their reflash. car "b" has turbo kit scrapped together, runs 8 psi(ON A GOOD TUNE!) and turns 15 flat, then blows up after1 1/2 years to everyones disbelief. say what you want, the car had a good tune, was pulling12.3 a/f at full boost, and was daily driven for a full summer. granted, they were both cavaliers, but after you factor in the cost of

its not nice of you to tell someone that they live in a dump. maybe the people around me do more research and picked a turbo for a reason.
as for as your list:
1. manifold - depending of if your d or b, costs from $50 - $300
2. TURBO! - many places to get, from $75 - $1000
3. intercooler - another many places to get $35- $1000
4. wastegate(if needed) - as stated, if needed, $0 - $300
5. charge pipes - if you can fabricate, $100, if not, $150 - $300
6. injectors - dsm's $40, 550cc - 1000cc - $300
7. bov - $5 - $250
8. dump & all other exhaust - fabricate dp - $10, full 3" (which goes for superchargers) $200 - $1000
9. tuning software - $0(chrome,turboedit,uberdata) - $1000 and up
10. the tune - depends on your basemap, but $100 - $1000
11. gauges(unless your a complete retard) still need gauges with supercharger
heres a list for you:
1. superchargers are engine specific, if it goes bad, youll pay a lot for a replacement
2. superchargers give hp and tq right off the line, which bad for fwd vehicles
3. when you buy a supercharger kit, you get all the things you need, if you buy a turbo kit, you get everything you need. so comparing a supercharger kit to a homemade turbo kit is like comparing apples to oranges.
4. if superchargers are the way to go with hondas, then why is the majority of honda f/i people going turbo?
5. its easier to turn up the boost on a turbo car
as for as my opinion being biased, i cant argue with you there. i did research and and based my choice on the facts that i found.

Half of you don't know what you're talking about, this kid has to get Hondata K-Pro before anything.
Contact me via PM and I can source you a K-Proed PRB ECU for between $450-600 off normal retail price.

How about just K-pro. Honestly, there are people running low low 14's to high 13's easily with just intake, race header, and exhaust and thats with out K-Pro and a tune.
I'd say get K-pro and get tuned and see what you get. You'll want to get it eventually anyways... for when you do decide to go for even larger power.
Honestly, I'd also recommend PM'ing "JesSi"
Edit: Dammit, he beat me to it.

I wouldn't worry too much about suspension. Jesse's hugs the road pretty decently... lol
I think it is funny how everyone thinks he should blow his money all on performance or suspension... Split it up.
Get the K-Pro and get a tune and then spend some money on some suspenion as well... a nice set of coilovers and then you have a little of both. Good performance and better suspension.
