The Y8 IM is very similar in design as the type R im, depending on the aplication and who you talk to you will get alot of different opinions on which is the better IM for the SOHC motors.

When i was building my n/a Mini me i did alot of reserch into which head and im flowed the best and from everything i read the Y8 manifold is the best for TQ and HP. there are a couple chioices for aftermarket IM's for the d but bang for buck the Y8 is the best choice because getting a 3-7 hp increase is not really worth 200.00 or what ever a new IM would be. NOT when you can get a 100hp increase with NO2 or boost.

+1 to the pile of Honda's not leaking oil =]

looks like i don't have to worry about workin on the engine, my tranny went big poopoo tonight. slipping bad in 1/2, primarily at low rmp, and the check engine light finally came on tonight. it also grinds if i try to put it into first unless im stopped or going ~10mph.

i know what your saying but it is all about what you wont. you find a part you like buy it weather it make power or not. maybe i'ts a brand you like or maybe it's a hard to find item. i say you spend as much as you wont as long as it's what you wont. becuse at the end of the day were are just building theses cars for our own enjoyment. it has nothing to do with what someone else says. it's all about what we wont. and if that means a clean N/A auto d15b with I/H/E and some nice GT-P's then thats what you buy.

this is true, but never did chris say he MUST buy a Y8 manifold. he simply suggested that it is a good buy for the performance gains it gives. the man asked for some opinions and they were given. nobody here is holding a gun to his head :dunno:

o no thats not what i ment at all. i agree and support you guys suggestions. i simply stated to do what you want. i take advice from you guys all the time. but it's all abut us and the car is all im sayen. no offence intended.
