Woulda made more power with the vtec unpluged i think, just cause the fuel curve for vtec ecu's is quite a bit different then a non vtec ecu. At least from what I seen from the maps I've been looking at online, but it's only a theory with me.soundqjr;61801 wrote:Well my car runs like ass and you know that and this is on a LS tune wait untill I get built block in. Then the fun begins....
Who's to say he can't possibly unplug it though to test things out.

i was kinda thinking the same thing. Aj, why are you on a LS (non-vtec) tune/basemap?90CivicEx;61804 wrote:Woulda made more power with the vtec unpluged i think, just cause the fuel curve for vtec ecu's is quite a bit different then a non vtec ecu. actually no , AJ car is running pig rich, but it mainly had to do with the wrong temp range plugs and for misfiring due to having a NA gap on a boosted car (.44 vs .32ish). Running a LS base map is really not that much different from a vtec one other then more fuel being added at changeover, but if their is no added fuel at that point he would start running lean which in turn would make ALOT more HP if this was the case. Remember lean = more HP / Running rich = less power.90CivicEx;61804 wrote:Woulda made more power with the vtec unpluged i think, just cause the fuel curve for vtec ecu's is quite a bit different then a non vtec ecu. So on a LS base map his car would technically make more power .. but either way you look at it his car is not correctly tuned for his current application no matter what the base map, but if he made over 200hp in a car that weight's about 400lbs less he should have pulled stronger, but if he was not running the car out to red line then it really did not matter what the weight/hp difference was.

good race. I would be excited that the car didn't blow up, let alone you pulling on him. get that biotch tuned and you should be on your way to posting stuff like this more often
This post comes with a guarantee: I guarantee that I don't care what you think about it.

Stock RSX Type-S make 170-175ish whp. Intake and exhaust wouldn't of made much difference without the utilization of Hondata K-Pro. The combination of I/RH/E with K-Pro can yield between 190-200whp depending on the motor's condition and the right combination of parts.
