yes, i have many times. Lynch used to be just a bike ride down the street, me and my brother would ride dwon there and watch them go on the course all the time. Jim Moretti, Lynch's right hand man even let me take a couple out back when I had only a permit. I have experienced HUMMERS firsthand many times which is why I love them so much. Its also why I don't see how people can tell me jeeps or toyotas or anything else do a better job off road. Yes, many modified 4X4s can do better than a stock Hummer, but from the dealership floor absolutely nothing can touch it.

as far as the video goes, where does it look like they are not doing a very good job? they just completed a bunch of trails at Moab on stock suspension! Thats pretty impressive if you ask me...

so you saw/drove them on a course? so no real world experience right? it is impressive, if you notice in the video you see a lot wheels in the air, even the hummers perched between one front and one rear wheel while they still may make it, it just doesnt look like the way i would want my truck to behave off road in my eyes its unsafe. in the video the hummers are rolling around open rock beds, stick them in a back woods trail with trees and maybe some real good sized boulders or wash outs, they aint goin nowhere. now im not saying that the hummer "hmmwv" isnt capable off road im just saying its not a well rounded vehicle; whereas, take a jeep throw some nice tires on it and some lockers maybe a mild suspension lift and it will be more capable in a broader sense of being able to crawl through a rock bed squeeze between some trees and make its way up an incline, when a hummer would plow through the rocks knock down the trees then get high centered on the crest of the incline. like i said before you cant really compare a hummer to stock vehicle you would have to compare it to a vehicle that has comparable "mods" such as lockers and nicer tires. otherwise you would be comparing a purpose built offroad vehicle "on stock suspension" to an offroad vehicle that was street friendly. it just wouldnt be fair...

now back on topic...

you can compare it to a stock vehicle because it is one. You can go to a dealership and buy one just like you would if it was a Civic, but the difference is it was made to be an offroad vehicle stock, yet is still just as at home on the road. A jeep like you said can do a bit of offroading from the factory and go to the supermarket the sameday because it is a recreational vehicle, but its not the 4X4 god everyone makes it out to be,. I have been in a few more Jeeps in off roading excursions than Hummers, but i can still tell you that stock one straight from the showroom floor cannot do as much

Yes I understand they can do the same things as a Hummer modified, even better. but thats not the point Modify the hummer and it will still be better. They may not seem safe to you, but they are. Its a hell of a lot easier to flip a skinny short jeep than it is a huge ass HUMMER, and about the wheels being up; that doesnt mean its going to flip, a vehicle with all four wheels on the ground can flip just as easy.

I think there is only one way to settle this, you get a Yj, I'll get a hummer and we'll see who can drive over rick's car easier.
