Black Majik Steering-H22A swap.....Long story!

This will still be able to work with the h22 swap correct?

btw great build and car looks really clean!!
yep, the 4ws on all 88-91 Preludes was mechanical and the motor gets nowhere in the way of all the steering components.

thanks everybody for your enthusiasm-i know it will take a bit of work, but nothing that me and some of my well-trained honda friends around here cant finish.

Looks like a good start. What is left to complete it?

Running list as of now:

PS belt install (going to be a tight fit!)
Alt belt (delete AC so need a shorter belt)
PS hoses-going to have to fab up something to remedy this
Wiring to the ECU/Cabin as well as the Dizzy
Radiator hoses
hook up TPS
exhaust (custom)
chip ecu or VTEC controler
battery cables

I think thats the list from my memory

once the car is running and reliable as a swapped car, i plan to do the following:

repaint/powercoat valve cover
Ksport coilovers (one of 3 companies that even make coilovers for these cars!)
Repaint (after i deploy to Iraq in August, i plan on having it repainted with some minor bodywork (parking lot dents, replace drivers front fender)

Nothing real serious planned but if i get bold after i deploy, i may have somebody shave/tuck the ebay since its a bitch on these cars (Chase maybe? ......heheehehehe -that would probably cost a pretty penny!).

I noticed a couple other things about the car that need to be done:

Heater core connected

Also notice on the close up pic of the motor-apparently somewhere along the line, 5 header studs must have been busted off and replaced with bolts. This looks really bad, so i will probably have to get the head Re-tapped when i get the exhaust put on.

Why would you have to re-tap the head? Just replace the studs.

why? honda stopped using head studs on their new cars because they had a tendency to break off and strip.

that was how the motor was in the other prelude and that things been together for years... i would pull all the studs and replace them with bolts.. its a much cleaner appearance

imo i would try to get rywire to do it. This may start a big shit fit and i dunno if you have ever used chase for anything before. I bought a clutch line from him at IA but he was out there he told me as soon as he got home he would send me one will 4 months later i got one. I dont care for chase much he seems a little shady. BTW what branch are you in? I ship for boot camp in the marine corp in 3 weeks. The build looks and sounds awesome.

True-good point. maybe i will just do the bolts instead of studs. However, if you look at the pic of the motor in the old car, it was all studs back in 07 (when the pic was shot)

The engine harness on the car now is a Rywire job. I sent him an OBD0 B20A5 and the H22 harness from the doner car, then he spliced them together. from what i gather on preludepower, a full wire tuck on these cars is major bitch, probably from all the hardlines.
Im actually a civilian working for the Army at Ft Bliss, TX (El Paso), which is about a 50 mile commute everyday, but i refuse to live in this city-its garbage! Las Cruces is really nice and i already know alot of people there, since i used to live there between 03-05.
